Key Responsibilities

  • Reconciling customer's accounts whilst also loading invoices and required documents on customer systems.
  • Processing chain store accounts and calculating monthly rebate provisions.
  • Approving debtors clerks' journals and reviewing rebates processed.
  • Reconciling the trade receivables ledger accounts.
  • Weekly reporting on cash inflow.
  • Consolidating bad debts reports and managing handed over customers.
  • Managing and reconciling the debtorrelated ledger accounts.
  • Reconciling and controlling all payment before delivery/COD accounts.
  • Collecting outstanding monies owed on all accounts.
  • Managing and controlling the performance of customer account maintenance, overdue balances and credit balances.
  • Submitting statements and schedules on Retail customer portals.
  • Allocating accounts according to remittances, process discounts and rebates.
  • Improving customer service levels to facilitate and maintain mutually beneficial customer relations.
  • Resolving problems and challenges that arise with Customer Accounts.
  • Identifying accounts that need to be handed over to the Attorney and/or Debt Collector for legal action and regularly liaise with the Attorney on legal action taken.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:


  • Tertiary Financial Management qualification.
  • Credit Management qualification is a must.
  • Atleast 5 years' experience as a Credit Controller leading a team of Debtors' clerks.
  • Proficiency in the English language required.
  • Accounting software package experience (SAGE will be an advantage)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Package.
