- Process payroll accurately, completely, and on time.
- Verify all payroll processing and obtain sign-off/approval.
- Communicate payroll timelines to business stakeholders and manage these timelines strictly.
- Prepare payroll for verification by Internal Audit before distribution.
- Reconcile significant payroll processing, including overtime, batch uploads, statutory submissions, benefits processing, third-party payments, and deductions.
- Finalize preparations for monthly payroll release according to set and communicated timelines.
- Reconcile and submit statutory payroll processing to relevant entities (SARS, UIF, Workman's Compensation Commissioner, STATSSA, Department of Labour).
- Reconcile and submit benefits processing to relevant entities (Sanlam, NBCRFLI, Momentum).
- Reconcile and submit third-party payments to relevant entities (SARS – IT88's, Garnishees, Union membership fees).
- Optimize working hours and manage overtime effectively.
- Identify and provide ongoing staff training needs.
- Oversee the identification of High Performance Individuals (HPI's) and create Personal Development Plans (PDP) through coaching and mentoring.
- Ensure managers create PDP's for all staff and hold regular review and feedback sessions with action plans.
- Manage conflicts and maintain professional and disciplinary standards.
- Monitor internal processes within the Medipost Payroll Department and adhere to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) timelines.
- Discuss non-compliance of SOP's / Policies with relevant people/departments and communicate action plans to address these issues.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting within agreed deadlines.
- Take corrective action as a result of problem areas identified due to reporting.
- Monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual reporting and submissions.
- Manage the Department budget.
- Manage overtime expenses.
- Increase revenue growth through the Medi-Training Academy (MTA) as an accredited provider.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Financial or HR Management qualification.
- Extensive knowledge of payroll-related deliverables, employee tax, and other statutory compliance.
