    Key Performance Areas

  • Organize, Install, upgrade, configure, maintain and troubleshoot servers (physical and virtual), databases & networks (LAN, WAN & other communication, security systems) to support the Necsa Group.
  • Maintain high-performance levels for all IT infrastructure-related services and processes.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure and related software applications to deliver a single seamless quality service across the Group.
  • Capacity Planning – Monitor and forecast resource usage to ensure optimal system performance and avoid downtime due to resource exhaustion.
  • Patch Management – Ensure systems are up-to-date with the latest security patches and updates to mitigate potential cyber-attacks.
  • Security Monitoring – Monitor and respond to security threats in a timely manner to prevent or minimize the impact of security incidents.
  • Access Management – Manage user access to systems, applications, and data to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • Maintain server uptime during scheduled business hours per the approved Service Level Agreement.
  • Maintain Asset Management registers, and its Life Cycle (procurement, deployment, maintenance and disposal) in line with the corporate Asset Management Policies.
  • Service Level Management – Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met or exceeded to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains adequate and industry awareness of knowledge of operating systems and application software used to provide a high level of support.
  • Application Availability – Ensure the availability of critical business applications during scheduled business hours.
  • Application Performance – Monitor and optimize application performance to ensure optimal end-user experience.
  • Application Security – Ensure the security of critical business applications to prevent unauthorized access or data breaches.
  • Disaster Recovery Plan – Ensure adherence to the plan and maintain the availability and effectiveness of disaster recovery systems to minimize downtime and data loss in the event of a disaster.
  • Backup Completion Rate – Ensure all critical data is backed up on a regular basis and the completion rate meets or exceeds the established backup schedule.
  • Recovery Time Objective (RTO) – Ensure the time taken to recover critical data in the event of a system failure or data loss meets or exceeds the established RTO.
  • Recovery Point Objective (RPO) – Ensure the point in time to which data can be recovered meets or exceeds the established RPO.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    Education:

  • Diploma in Information Technology (NQF Level 6) or Advanced IT-specific certificates (e.g. MCSE).

    Experience:
  • 5 to 7 years' experience in the systems administration environment.
