Testing Officer

Minimum Requirements:

Essential: Matric with a minimum of 50% for Matric Mathematics.
Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar position.

Duties and responsibilities:

Responsible for promptly reporting any verification issues to the Laboratory Manager when necessary.
Maintain and perform test bench maintenance following Form M
Maintenance Records.
Analyse test results and make decisions regarding meter compliance or rejection, ensuring proper documentation of reasons for rejection.
Adhere to the powers and duties stipulated for a Verification Officer in accordance with the Legal Metrology Act no. 9 of 2014, Chapter V, Clause 2
Maintain the proper functioning of test benches, ensuring they are free from leaks and all instruments are calibrated.
Under the guidance of Verification Officers, conduct verification activities at our Cape Town Premises, adhering to SANS 15291, NRCS LM-P , the laboratory quality manual, and the Legal Metrology Act no. 9 of 201
Perform water meter verification using appropriate methods for the utilized test bench.
Handle verification and test items with care during the verification process.
Verify and maintain the accuracy and validity of data during both data capture and transfer.
Segregate failed meters and prevent them from entering the sealing process.
Actively engage in Verification Officer training provided by the company with the aim of becoming an NRCSauthorised Verification Officer.
Testing officers are expected to participate in Verification Officer training as well.
