Position Summary

  • A challenging opportunity awaits a competent Human Resources Officer to ensure compliance with HR Strategies, Plans, Policies, Practices as well as all internal company policies and procedures.
  • The main purpose of the role is to support the HR Manager to achieve people development strategies and plans in support of our overall business strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Assist the HR Manager in implementing HR strategies effectively.
  • Maintain comprehensive HR administration processes and practices ensuring accuracy in manual and electronic records. Act as a custodian for all employee records and documentation.
  • Manage employee relations matter s, including disciplinary, grievance, and consultation procedures, and provide guidance to Line Management and employees in compliance with labor legislation. Represent the company at CCMA.
  • Coordinate Recruitment and Selection processes, supporting management in selection decisions and managing partner relationships efficiently.
  • Support talent management and succession planning efforts by identifying and recommending solutions to address current and future business needs.
  • Facilitate performance management interventions, including performance reviews, coaching, counselling, and advising line managers and employees as needed.
  • Identify training needs and research and recommend suitable learning interventions.
  • Coordinate all training activities and ensure proper administration and recordkeeping.
  • Oversee daytoday remuneration matters, serving as an HR Hub to ensure timely submission of information to payroll for new appointments, salary increases, terminations etc within the parameters of policies and procedures.
  • Manage all administrative tasks related to terminations until all benefits are paid, coordinating the entire process until completion.
  • Handle Pension and Provident Fund administration responsibilities i.e. death, funeral, withdrawals, retirement, disability claims to finality.
  • Lead the onboarding process, including induction and orientation programs, and conduct monthly followups with newcomers.
  • Generate accurate and timely HR management information and reports as required.
  • Ensure the delivery of effective HR support services to the region by reviewing processes, obtaining feedback, and making necessary adjustments.
  • Submit employee documents to payroll promptly every month
  • Assist in compiling all statutory reports such as Employment Equity Report/Plan and ATR/WSP.
  • Support the implementation of BBBEE initiatives.
  • Provide highquality HR support and advice to all stakeholders in the business while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Actively intervene in situations where fairness and justice are compromised.
  • Serve on the wellness team representing the regions proactively.

    Inherent Requirements

Essential Education & Experience Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in HR/Industrial Psychology
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a HR Generalist capacity
  • Experience in a FMCG / Retail environment is a huge advantage.
