Description

The Bartender will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food.

You will also up sell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties. To succeed as a Bartender, you should have a neat appearance and engaging, friendly personality. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable.

The Bartender will report directly to the Food & Beverage Manager and specific venue manager.

The Employee's responsibilities shall include, among other things, the following:

  • Welcoming customers, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.
  • Planning drink menus and informing customers about new beverages and specials.
  • Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.
  • Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
  • Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure bar and tables are wellstocked.
  • Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.
  • Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
  • Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
  • Developing new cocktail recipes, highenergy Bartender with excellent communication skills serve classical cocktails and exciting new beverages to our customers
  • Availability to work late nights, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc for long periods, and lift up to 20kg

  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Ensure our glassware are polished, and fully stocked for service.
  • Familiarize yourself with your reservations and details.
  • Check the out of stock items and note changes on the noticeboard
  • Additional duties which may include the following: Retail & Beverage Stock take, Cleaning the Fridge shelves in the bar or other areas, assisting with other sections, assisting your colleague's section, Collecting stock from the Main Kitchen, Banqueting Store, Homestead or printouts from the Admin building.

Minimum Job requirements:
- proven working experience as a Bartender;

  • Excellent knowledge of in mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
  • Computer literacy
  • Knowledge of a second language is a plus.
  • Positive attitude, excellent communication skills and ability work well under pressure with all venue staff.
  • Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean
  • Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food when necessary.
  • Relevant training certificate.
  • Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed.
  • Able to handle money accurately and operate a pointofsale system.
  • Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
