    Description

    Cloud Support Engineer Role

    You will learn at an accelerated pace how to use and leverage many different cloud technologies to help our customers succeed.

    This role supports services that focus on Infrastructure Automation/Governance and Configuration Management including AWS CloudFormation, Cloud Development Kit (CDK), Control Tower, Service Catalog and AWS OpsWorks, which manages instances of Chef and Puppet.

    You will act as the Cloud Ambassador across AWS products, providing our customers with required tools and tactics to scale their impact in world-wide markets.

    In this role, you will interact with customers that reach out to AWS via email, chat or phone, helping our customers automate their infrastructure management and configuration management for their applications.

    Apart from working on a broad spectrum of technical issues, you may also coach/mentor new hires, develop & present training, partner with development teams on complex issues or contact-deflection initiatives, participate in hiring, write tools and script to help the team, or work with leadership on process improvements and strategic initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Solving customer cases through various contact channels, applying advanced troubleshooting techniques and working with customers to dive deep into the root cause of an issue.
    2. Driving initiatives that improve support-related processes and our customers' experience, such as tutorials, how-to videos, technical articles, trainings, among others.
    3. Providing feedback to internal AWS teams on how to improve our services and working on critical, highly complex customer problems that may span multiple AWS services.
    4. Continuously learning groundbreaking technologies, developing new technical skills and other professional competencies.
    5. Acting as interviewer in hiring processes and coaching/mentoring new team members.
    6. Flexibility to work 5 days a week on a rotational basis, with occasional weekend work.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 1+ years of software development, or 1+ years of technical support experience.
    • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
    • Good understanding of Linux, Networking concepts and protocols, and IaC tools (Cloudformation, Terraform, CDK) and Configuration Management tools (AWS OpsWorks, Chef, Puppet, Ansible).

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Knowledge or experience with application deployment pipelines, Docker and Kubernetes.
    • Understanding of cloud computing concepts and/or experience with any cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
    • Scripting or developing experience in languages such as UNIX Shell, Python, R, Ruby, GO, Java, .NET (C#), JavaScript.
