    Foreman I Supervisor (Opencast Mining)

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Safety:

    • Compliance with all safety regulations as set out in the mines policies.
    • General tidiness and good housekeeping of site and other areas of responsibility.

    Mining:

    • Execution of planned production activities.
    • Ensuring targets are achieved.
    • Pre-shift meeting and inspection of work areas.
    • Dump Control.
    • Load and Hauling.
    • Loading areas.
    • Administration.

    Desired Experience & Qualification

    • National Senior Certificate.
    • Candidates must have a valid driver's license.
    • Must have an open pit blasting or rock breaking certificate.
    • Competency A / Legal Liability.
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in an open pit mining environment.
    • Minimum of 2 years' supervisory experience.
    • Must have proven experience with open pit heavy equipment fleet and open pit operations and mechanical inclined.
    • Previous experience with loading and hauling in open pit mining environment.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
    • Must be medically fit and pass a medical examination / Dover as required from the designated mines.
    • Ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines as determined by the supervisor.
    • Must possess basic problem solving, basic self-management.
