GVI is hiring a mid-level Copywriter who will contribute tight and engaging short form content to take our marketing, communications and outreach to the next level.

Goal


The Copywriter crafts tight, creative, and high-quality content that resonates with GVI audiences who are interested in travel, conservation, community, meaningful impact and international volunteering.

They also produce content with a clear, compelling call to action.

By writing clear, engaging and brand-consistent short form copy, the Copywriter supports the Communications Managers across a variety of digital channels, marketing campaigns and other promotional materials.

This role helps to drive strategy, communications and marketing goals across the GVI Group of brands.


Specific responsibilities

  • Content creation and optimisation:
  • Write engaging, witty and tight copy for our target audiences (Gen Z and Millennials especially), with a specific focus on short-form copy with a clear CTA.
  • Create and optimise for website conversion, outstanding, engaging content for various marketing channels including website pages, paid media search and display campaigns, promotions, newsletters and other marketing collateral when required.
  • Use SEO experience to review, revise, and update existing content to improve our visibility in search engine rankings.
  • Support the communications managers and outreach team in the conceptualisation and creation of marketing and outreach campaigns.
  • Edit and provide quality assurance on deliverables from the communications and outreach teams.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail while working on spreadsheets and interpreting analytics if required.
  • Proactively drive professional development and innovation:
  • Actively engage in discussions around topics and trends pertinent to our brand such as climate change, conservation, social development, international volunteering ethics, language, race and identity, Gen Z and youth culture.
  • Able to effectively use AI in content creation.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in SEO.
  • Collaborate using remote work and digital communication tools (such as Trello, GoogleSuite, MailChimp and Figma) and Google Suite for clear communication. Assist with blog processing and uploads on Wix and WordPress.

Attributes and experience

  • 36 years of experience in a writing role, ideally including agency and paid media experience.
  • Experience writing copy for a variety of platforms including newsletters, paid search, paid social, websites, social media, and SEO.
  • A portfolio demonstrating ability to create engaging copy across a variety of channels.
  • An adaptable mindset, with enthusiasm to respond swiftly and effectively to changing trends and AI in the digital marketing landscape.
  • Organised and proactive, with an efficient approach to tasks and responsibilities.
  • Eager to grow and expand their knowledge and skills.
  • A clear and open communicator who can offer constructive challenges and support, maintaining a straightforward and positive attitude.
  • Willing to step outside their role to support the team when necessary, especially in highpressure situations.
