Debtors Clerk (5+ Years' Experience) - Ballito

R15, 000 - R18, 000 CTC

We're searching for a meticulous and results-oriented Debtors Clerk to join our accounts receivable team.

You'll play a vital role in ensuring timely customer payments, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to a healthy cash flow.


Responsibilities:

Process customer payments efficiently via various channels (cash, cheque, EFT)

Allocate received payments accurately to customer accounts

Post customer payments and credits to the accounting system

Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account records

Research and resolve discrepancies in customer accounts

Manage the debtors aging report, identifying and prioritizing overdue accounts

Initiate and follow-up on overdue accounts with professional and courteous communication (written and verbal)

Prepare collection letters and implement effective collection strategies (within legal guidelines)

Liaise with customers to address payment queries and concerns

Assist with month-end closing procedures and debtors control reports

Ensure adherence to company credit control policies and procedures


Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a Debtors Clerk or Accounts Receivable role

Strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping

Superior organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)

Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) highly desirable

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently and take initiative

Strong customer service skills with a professional and positive demeanour

Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
