    Job Description:

    To succeed in this role, you will need to have a solid foundation in IT systems and a passion for problem-solving. Your responsibilities will include managing projects from start to finish, ensuring the security and integrity of our infrastructure, and working closely with our team to identify and implement solutions to complex technical challenges.

    Key Requirements:

    • A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent education is required, with a related tertiary qualification being highly desirable.
    • Proven experience in a related field such as DevOps, Software Development, or SysAdmin is essential.
    • Familiarity with Linux distributions including Debian and Ubuntu is necessary, as well as expertise in macOS.
    • The ability to work with SaltStack, an orchestration tool, is also required, although training can be provided if needed.
    • Experience with MySQL and Percona databases, Nginx, and Windows Server is also essential.

    Desirable Skills:

    • Knowledge of agile methodologies and cloud technologies.
    • Understanding of SysAdmin standards and technologies, including networking and securing infrastructure.
    • Experience with database administration, scripting languages such as Bash and Python, and logging and security hardening.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage internal and external projects from inception to completion.
    • Build staging and development environments as needed.
    • Ensure regular backups are made and automated backup recovery testing is performed.

    Competencies:

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to think logically and demonstrate attention to detail.
    • Deep understanding of security and privacy by design principles.
