PURPOSE OF THE POSITION AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


The purpose of this position is to ensure that the relationship between the Company and its panel attorneys is not Compromised by ensuring and managing the accurate & prompt taxation and payment of bills in accordance with the provisions of the Scorpion Legal Protection Policy Document, Scorpion Schedule of Fees & Tariffs, and all other related jurisdictional tariffs of South Africa.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Manage Claims Department:
Manage the department to ensure efficient taxation & payment of attorneys'

bills.

Check and approve bills, taxed by cost consultants.

High level of numerical accuracy and attention to detail required.

Relationship Management:
Manage the relationship between the branch, claims department and

Attorneys

Attending to Complaints and Concerns:
Address complaints and concerns raised by members & panel attorneys

Process Improvement and Development Design:
Develop and improve payment and compliance processes.

Setting Targets and Reporting Set departmental targets and compile weekly and monthly payment reports.

Must be very computer literate and advanced knowledge of Excel and

MS Word required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS_


Education:
Must have Matric (Grade 12); and

Relevant legal qualification

Admission as an Attorney advantageous


Experience:
At least 2 year's claims experience. Practice experience advantageous.

At least 1 year's managerial experience advantageous.

At least 2 years' experience with legal bills and taxations with regards to all tariff types,

including but not limited to Magistrate's Court, High Court, Arbitration and Labour Court

tariffs etc

Must have sound knowledge and a very good understanding of labour law and

labour processes in SA i.e. CCMA, Labour Court etc.


Other:
Must possess higher than basic ability and knowledge to use computers and related technology efficiently. Must be able to adapt and/or alternate between different

Have a valid driver's license.

General working conditions:
Regular office environment and no health and safety risks involved.

Occasional local and national travel involved.
