    Our client is seeking a Raw Material Planner to join their team in Cape Town. This role focuses on ensuring the timely availability of materials required for production while minimizing shortages and optimizing inventory levels.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Analyze production schedules to forecast raw material needs.
    • Develop material requirement plans (MRPs) based on forecasts and sales data.
    • Work closely with procurement and production teams to ensure timely ordering and delivery of raw materials.
    • Monitor and manage inventory levels to maintain optimal stock, determine safety stock levels, and prevent overstocking or shortages.
    • Track material usage trends to provide insights for process improvements and SKU consolidation opportunities.
    • Liaise with production, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless material flow.
    • Address material-related issues and manage deviations effectively.
    • Ensure alignment between procurement and production timelines through effective communication and risk identification.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
    • 25 years of experience in materials planning, supply chain management, procurement, or inventory management.
    • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems, such as SAP or SYSPRO.
    • Strong understanding of supply chain processes and inventory control principles.
    • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
    • Knowledge of forecasting and demand planning techniques.
    • Excellent analytical, administrative, and organizational skills.
    • Strong communication skills for interacting with internal stakeholders.
    • Problem-solving skills to manage raw material challenges and prevent production disruptions.
    • Attention to detail to identify raw material data inaccuracies.
