    Head, Data (Corporate & Investment Banking)

    Job Overview

    The role of Head, Data in Corporate and Investment Banking is to translate the data vision and strategy of Standard Bank Group into actionable data strategies that support business objectives.

    This involves implementing a data strategy by coordinating and facilitating data programs that enable consistent and effective data-driven business decisions.

    The successful candidate will advise on, plan, and report on the Data and Analytics, Automation, Integration, and Regulatory IT Portfolio technology functions to support the implementation of the Business Strategy.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. To enforce governance and compliance, ensuring alignment to relevant Group frameworks, policies, and standards, including compliance with data protection legislation.
    2. To provide technology support for end-to-end regulatory project support, which may include bespoke software development for strategic initiatives.

    Qualifications:

    • A Postgraduate Degree in Mathematical Sciences, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
    • A Master's Degree in Mathematical Sciences, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
    • Relevant certifications in data science, AI, or related fields are preferred.

    Experience:

    • Experience in IT capabilities that drive business value creation, Management Information Systems (MIS), and Business Intelligence (BI).
    • Understanding of financial analysis and finance information system capabilities, with demonstrated ability to manage Profit and Loss (P&L).
    • Experience managing functional teams responsible for data management and governance.
