VOCATIONAL PROGRAMME TEACHER:

Highlands Estate, Cape Town

Full-time permanent post, starting July 2023

Herzlia is a highly successful, independent, community Jewish Day School in Cape Town. We seek a well-qualified, experienced, highly motivated teacher to work in a dynamic multi-disciplinary team

• Be a qualified teacher with further qualifications in remedial teaching or inclusive education, and with school experience in Intermediate, Senior and FET Phase
• Have previous teaching experience of Grade 712 pupils with significant barriers to learning
• Have knowledge of inclusive and supportive education policy and practice
• Be able to create, manage and integrate supportive education interventions
• Be part of a multidisciplinary professional education support team
• Be able to do baseline educational assessments on pupils with learning/other barriers to learning and supportive needs
• Be able to create individualised education plans based on pupils' specific educational needs
• Be able to adapt and modify CAPS and IEP curriculum content at multiple levels
• Be able to create and develop a life skills and social skills programme as well as source jobsite training opportunities for pupils.
• Have excellent administrative, communication and relationship building skills
• Be creative and flexible
