Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned professional with extensive experience in trading and management within the retail and wholesale steel, tube, and industrial hardware industry.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Train internal, retail, and external sales staff to optimize performance.
• Assist in quotations and large order processing.
• Maintain accurate supplier lists for staff to ensure optimal pricing.
• Provide weekly specials lists to sales teams.
• Support internal, retail, and external sales staff in closing deals.
• Delegate tasks effectively to sales staff.
• Implement procedure changes as directed by management.
• Ensure timely completion of annual and sick leave forms.
• Motivate and manage sales teams to achieve maximum performance.
• Maintain exceptional customer service standards across all departments.
• Meet or exceed budgeted sales targets for internal, retail, and external sales.
• Develop new accounts and loyalty programs.
• Update customer details on our system as needed.
• Collaborate with the debtor's team to resolve account queries.
• Process invoices efficiently.
• Monitor and replenish stock levels as required.

Required Experience & Qualifications

Our ideal candidate should possess:

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in management and sales within the mild steel and industrial hardware industry.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Afrikaans.
• Advanced computer skills, particularly in Excel and Syspro.
• Ability to work flexible retail hours.
• Exceptional management, trading, and negotiation skills.
• A proven track record of closing deals and increasing market awareness.
• A stable work history and reliable references.
• Effective stock management to meet customer demands.
• Strategic negotiation of prices with suppliers.
• Accurate purchase order processing and sign-off procedures.
