Job Purpose

  • To compile damages appraisal fairly and accurately in line with TCF and Nedbank Insurance

Responsibilities:


  • Ensure customer satisfaction by always adhering to policy wording.
  • Contribute to cost efficiencies through responsible utilisation of workrelated resources and Assesses vehicles photographs.
  • Develop pricing / program recommendations for certain repairs.
  • Operational excellence through the delivery of work processes according to defined quality standards.
  • Ability to negotiate favourable prices where required.
  • To inspect the vehicle, find the cause of failure / problem, and supply a detailed but unbiased report, which is impartial and fair.
  • Strong communication skills and project management skills.
  • Able to assist with complaints resolutions.
  • Meet stakeholder expectations by ensuring quality assessments are completed within the prescribed turn
- around times.

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders through effective communication and engagement.
  • Share expert knowledge and industry trends with all stakeholders through technical and advisory services.
  • Ensure extraordinary client experience through professional conduct and interactions.
  • Schedule and coordinate activities for self and/or others by identifying the appropriate resources required to perform these activities within a specific time frame in order to achieve business objectives.
  • Manage cross functional relationships through consistent feedback on work flow progress.
  • Support the achievement of the business strategy, objectives and values by reviewing Nedbank and Business Unit Plan and ensuring delivered systems, process, services and solutions are aligned.
  • Identify training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from management.
  • Ensure all personal development plan activities are completed within specified timeframe.
  • Ensure professional conduct when dealing with all stakeholders through appropriate personal branding.
  • Share knowledge and industry trends with team and stakeholders during formal and informal interaction.
  • Obtain buyin for developing new and/or enhanced processes (e.g. operational processes)that will improve the functioning of stakeholders' businesses by highlighting benefits in support of the implementation of recommendations.
  • Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc).
  • Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy (e.g. Green Strategy).
  • Seek opportunities to improve business processes and systems by identifying and recommending effective ways to operate and adding value to Nedbank.


  • Essential Qualifications

  • NQF Level
  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees


  • Preferred Qualification

  • Qualified Motor Technician / Spray Painter / Panel Beater with relevant assessment background


  • Essential Certifications

  • Registered Professional Valuer, Registered Associate Valuer with SACPVP, RICS Professional member

Preferred Certifications

  • Professional member of the Vehicle Damage Qualification Body of South Africa (VDQ) (Advantageous)
  • Minimum 23 Years' Motor Assessing Experience essential in Short Term insurance
  • Minimum 23 years' Panel beater experience
  • Minimum Experience Level 23 years' experience in Motor Assessments (Mechanical / Panel Beater / Spray Painter)
