The Infrastructure Leader will also be fundamental in achieving the overall strategy of the Africa Assurance Innovation and Digital Team.


Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Quality controls EY Technology specialist product and operational support for existing systems used by assurance professionals in executing their audit.
  • Influences the Assurance technology development agenda collating the Assurance Technology budget annually.
  • Supports the Innovation and Digital pillars (Data Delivery, Custom Analytics, Automations and Digital Solutions and Go-ToMarket).
  • Ensures the industrialisation of infrastructure across Africa.
  • Responsible for the existing suite of systems and delivering critical initiatives designed to effect efficiencies in assurance technology solutions.

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Manage a 12month cycle of strategic planning and initiative delivery.
  • Understand global, firm wide and industry business issues and how they relate to overall strategy, and specific stakeholder needs and priorities.
  • Budget collation and prioritisation.
  • Provide input on key technology issues and strategy to shape strategy execution, initiatives, and stakeholder management and interactions.
  • Anticipate communications needs and work independently to develop draft agendas, topics, speaking notes and presentations.
  • Manages majority of daytoday responsibilities independently.
  • Frequently interact with other members of the Africa Assurance Innovation and Digital Team to obtain, input, share information and guide operational team members.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships across many different functions and organisational levels.
  • Strong understanding of a variety of organisational changes, including technology, process and organisational design, within a large and complex organisation
  • Strong technology skills as follows:
  • Ability to review IT requirement documentation and ensure IT delivery against agreed requirements;
  • Devise flexible approaches to resolve technology issues;
  • Challenge the robustness of IT's test plans and approach;
  • Develop and implement user acceptance testing, communication and training plans; and
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated success in building internal and external relationships at a senior level with a proven track record.
  • Excellent team building and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand team vision/strategy and create roadmap to achieve and communicate strategy throughout the firm.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work and team with a multitude of different people and different cultures.

Other Requirements

  • Travel may be required.

Experience

  • Proven project, change management experience and strategy execution
  • Proven track record as a senior project manager or change manager on large scale complex and significant company projects
  • Proven aptitude and keen interest in technology and technology developments
  • Strong logical reasoning skills with a desire to learn and develop expertise in specific business software and underlying technologies
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), organisational and analytical skills
  • Keen ability to exercise good judgement and mitigate data loss risks
  • IT literate with an aptitude for quickly learning new technology
