The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Senior Consultant to join our team based in our Johannesburg office. You will work alongside our top industry professionals in infrastructure, engineering, and consulting.


HKA's South African business provides advisory services across the full spectrum of infrastructure issues, including strategy, planning, funding and finance, procurement, commercial, and delivery.

There is a high demand to expand our services with our clients which operate in the energy, rail, water and government sectors.

You are an ambitious and driven individual interested in progressing your career within consultancy. You will work closely with our team in South Africa as part of the EMEA region.

You will support the team on a variety of different tasks, which may include but is not limited to the following:


  • Supporting Csuite executives and Boards to support their infrastructure delivery programs.
  • Working with a variety of clients across a range of industries.
  • Developing commercial strategies and delivery models
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, external stakeholders, and clients' representatives.
  • Supporting clients with investment decisions, including business case processes and development.
  • Leading detailed information and data analysis and developing critical insights.
  • Preparing proposals and/or responding to tenders.
  • Contributing and leading project teams and advisory assignments.
  • Leading and developing industry and stakeholder engagement activities to support investment and operational decisions.
  • Undertaking maturity assessments for clients in all infrastructure sectors.
  • Developing practical processes and tools that support the development and delivery of capital and asset intensive programmes.

Skills and Experience:


Ideally, you will have the following attributes:

  • Excellent people skills with the ability to get positive results through building and maintaining great relationships with colleagues and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills with an innovative mindset.
  • Previous experience working in consultancy or an organisation within the infrastructure sector is highly desirable but not essential.
  • A clientcentric approach and the ability to create and operate in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Experience leading project teams and client assignments.
  • A passion for learning and development. You will already be a member of a recognised professional body or be interested in working towards a professional qualification.
