About the role:

Based in Edenvale, Johannesburg

Package:
R R20 000 Total CTC


Responsibilities:


  • Fabricate and assemble metal parts to construct boiler components such as tubes, plates, and structural members.
  • Interpret drawings, and specifications to determine the appropriate materials and methods for fabrication.
  • Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and other metalworking tasks to shape and join components.
  • Install components and systems onsite, ensuring proper alignment and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure project deadlines and objectives are met.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including proper storage and handling of materials and equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continually improve skills and knowledge.

Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in welding or metalworking preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Boilermaker or similar role in the manufacturing, construction, or industrial sector.
  • Strong knowledge of metalworking techniques, including welding, cutting, bending, and shaping.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with various welding processes, such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
  • Ability to operate and maintain welding equipment and tools safely and effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in fabricating and assembling metal components.
  • Good physical stamina and dexterity to work in demanding environments and positions.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to safety practices and regulations, with a focus on preventing accidents and injuries.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Certification in welding from a recognised institution or organisation.
  • Prior experience working with industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards
  • Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively.
