    Description

    Instructional Designer

    Business Unit: Sales & Distribution

    Key Purpose

    The Discovery Institute of Training seeks an Instructional Designer to develop high-quality training solutions and materials for the Discovery Vitality portfolio.

    Key Outputs

    1. All work must be done accurately, comprehensively, and in-line with set quality standards.
    2. Effectively follow the 6Ds methodology to develop all learning solutions.
    3. Consult with stakeholders across all relevant business areas to identify and address L&D needs.
    4. Gather information about Discovery Vitality and key requirements of the area.
    5. Develop comprehensive curriculum to cater for specific area needs.
    6. Design and develop training material and assessments for workshops and induction programmes, ensuring learning outcomes are met.
    7. Develop storyboards for digital training material, including online courses, videos, podcasts, infographics, and animations.
    8. Consult with business areas to agree on reasonable deadlines.
    9. Train facilitators to ensure effective presentation of material.
    10. Maintain material and adhere to best practice guidelines.
    11. Evaluate facilitators and training material effectiveness.
    12. Develop material based on technical product information and specifications.
    13. Manage projects within the portfolio, ID team, or department.
    14. Apply planning and project management skills using tools.
    15. Set strategic portfolio goals and plan new initiatives.
    16. Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    17. Analyse data to identify trends, make recommendations, and suggest solutions.
    18. Use AI technology effectively to enhance ID processes and deliverables.

    Experience

    • At least two years Instructional Design experience.
    • 2 years working experience in the same role.
    • Occupationally Directed Education, Training and Development Practitioner qualification (ODETDP).
    • Knowledge and experience working in the financial services industry/with the Discovery Vitality product.
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
