    Key Responsibilities of a Hospitality Management & Culinary Arts Distance Learning Lecturer

    The Invictus Education Group seeks an experienced academic to join our team as a lecturer for the online campus specializing in Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts. The role involves facilitating, supporting students, and sharing passion for the hospitality industry.

    Job Description

    This position is focused on delivering high-quality education, meeting higher education standards, and contributing to student success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality management, excellent teaching skills, and experience with curriculum development and assessment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Facilitate online lectures and discussions, ensuring engaging and interactive learning experiences for students
    • Develop and deliver curriculum content, including lesson plans, assessments, and evaluations, in line with Invictus Education Group's academic standards
    • Provide individualized support to students, responding to queries, and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner
    • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency and quality in teaching practices
    • Maintain accurate records of student progress, grades, and other relevant data

    Requirements

    To be successful in this role, you will need:

    1. A bachelor's degree (NQF Level 7) in Hospitality or a related field
    2. A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in a leadership or management capacity
    3. A minimum of 2 years of lecturing or teaching experience within higher education
    4. Proficiency in Learning Management Systems and MS Office computer software
    5. Certification as an Assessor, preferably through a recognized accrediting body
    6. Experience with vocational, POE, and practical assessments
    7. Strong knowledge of curriculum and assessment principles, as well as academic compliance within the higher education sector
    8. Proficiency in computer software, apps, social media, and technology in general
