Over the last 4 years, we have worked with more than 150 startups, learning the nuances of both startup and specific industries while fostering amazing relationships with founders and innovators at the forefront of change.

    Your Role:

    We are looking for ambitious, self-driven Back End Intermediate Developers to be a part of our expanding team. As one of the lead devs, you will work with a team of lead designers, analysts, and developers to build out progressive, user-friendly, web and native apps and systems.

    You will be implementing engineering solutions and ensuring your team delivers on product roadmaps. The health and operation of the dev team will be your responsibility, making your role crucial for the success of our business.

    We follow agile processes and constantly tweak them to improve the effectiveness of our teams. The environment is fast-paced, the projects are challenging, and your team will be pushed to learn and grow faster than the norm. You will help provide a framework for this continuous growth.

    What we look for in a BED:

    1. 4+ years of experience as a full-stack or backend developer.
    2. Strong understanding of code versioning tools such as Git and a good understanding of SEO principles.
    3. Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
    4. Shown understanding of project management methodologies, such as Agile, SCRUM, and Kanban.
    5. Great leadership, interpersonal, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
    6. Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.

    Responsibilities include:

    1. Researching, designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise architecture.
    2. Understanding the product goals and strategy and effectively communicating with stakeholders (including clients) to clarify and define requirements.
    3. Ensuring the highest standard of code is produced by team members after being thoroughly tested.
    4. Ensuring that Specno conventions and best practices are documented and followed.
    5. Monitoring effective allocation of tasks - ensuring that your team is able to complete assigned tasks within the allocated timeline.
    6. With kindness and candor, providing junior and mid-level developers with critical feedback on technical performance.
    7. Coaching developers through complex issues. E.g. Working with juniors to break up tasks into smaller pieces.
    8. Promoting continuous self-improvement by staying informed of industry trends and sharing with the team through workshops of specific skills training sessions.
    9. Building strategies to improve and build on skills gaps within the Dev team. E.g. supporting mentorship and skills transfer initiatives.
    10. Assisting with tech assessment and onboarding of new hires.
    11. Managing ambiguity around tasks and proactively driving solutions when maintenance issues arise.
