    Description

    RPO Recruitment is currently hiring for an OHS Officer to join a well-established food manufacturing company based in Cape Town. As an OHS Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and improve workplace safety
    • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
    • Provide training and education to employees on safety protocols and procedures
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to occupational health and safety
    • Monitor and report on safety performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures
    • Stay updated on OHS legislation and industry best practices, recommending changes to policies and procedures as necessary
    • Collaborate with other departments to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement

    Requirements

    • Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
    • Previous experience as an OHS Officer in a food manufacturing or related industry
    • ISO implementation experience
    • Excellent knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to conduct thorough inspections and investigations
    • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
    • Proficient in MS Office and other relevant software
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
    • Valid driver's license
