    Promotions Planner - Fixed Term Contract 12 months

    Job Summary: The Promotions Planner will be responsible for promotional demand and statistical forecasting by constantly reviewing and improving promotional forecasting accuracy together with achieving total business forecasting targets.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Partner with the business as an SME for promotions forecasting accuracy within an allocated Portfolio.
    • Optimize inventory levels in conjunction with Supply Planning within the Frontshop Portfolio focusing on promotional forecasting.
    • Collaborate with category to determine better promotional forecasting.
    • Analyse and make recommendations to the merchandising team regarding promotional forecast volume changes.
    • Support the Demand Planning Team in achieving Total forecasting Accuracy Targets through weekly/monthly forecasting reviews.
    • Work with Demand Planning Manager to monitor future projections, inventory flow and validate monthly forecast for open to buy management.
    • Utilize stock efficiency by partnering with Supply Planners.
    • Consult with Category Managers by reviewing promotional forecasting and looking ahead with local and long lead time suppliers.
    • Ensure alignment in allocated Portfolio in maintaining critical path deadlines affecting promotional forecasting.
    • Generate and provide promotional forecasting reports, conduct post mortem analysis to identify trends and recommendations to maximize results.
    • Capture any forecast adjustments required timeously daily.

    Requirements:

    • Good understanding of Planning processes in Retail.
    • Strong Statistical ability and ability to problem solve.
    • Understanding of forecasting algorithms.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Strong analytical and numerate skills.
    • Well-structured and organised.
    • Good communication.

    Education:

    • B.com Degree or Operational Research Degree.
