Description
Oversee and implement the fleet maintenance in the workshop.- Monitor work activity in the workshop.
- Manage stock levels and the purchase and replacement parts and equipment.
- Manage performance of a shift or skilled and semiskilled artisans.
- Ensure successful implementation, monitor and management of SHEQ procedures.
- Ensure all breakdowns are attended to.
- Implement maintenance schedules.
- Conduct toolbox talks.
- Monthly inspection of all workshop tools and technician tools.
- Ensure load testing is done annually.
- Conducts quality inspections daily.
- Manage job cards and submit for closing of job cards.
- Assists technicians in developing their skills.
- Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with government regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA etc.
- Understands and ensures compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures.
- Ensures that all department employees receive appropriate manufacturer training.
- Ensures that all repairs are assigned to technicians in an equal and fair manner.
- Provides technical support for technicians when necessary.
- Checks progress of each repair throughout the day.
- Maintains highquality service repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
- Accounts for all documents; ensures that none are missing, and all are processed correctly.
- Establishes and maintains customer followup program to confirm satisfaction with the service experience.
- Monitors workshop condition, including cleanliness, safety and the condition of shop equipment. Reports problems to the service manager or dealer.
- Ensures the proper care, storage and inventory of special tools.
- Keeps abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommends purchases.
- Fills in for Depot Manager when necessary.
- Attends managers meetings as requested.
- Strives for harmony and teamwork within the workshop.
- Maintains safe work environment.
- Maintains professional appearance.
Minimum Requirements:
Education and experience:
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic.
- Experience on trailers and taillights.
- Valid EB license.
- Experience at supervisor level.
- Computer literate
- MS office.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Develop and maintain a sound relationship with suppliers.
- Manpower utilization.
- Need to be able to work shifts.
- Medical fit.
