Principal Engineer: Physical Separation Group

Our company, Mintek, has a career opportunity for a skilled Principal Engineer to lead the Physical Separation Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing complex projects in research and development, focusing on medium to large-sized initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• We are seeking a highly experienced engineer with a strong background in physical separation to design, develop, and commercialize new equipment and technology for the minerals processing industry.
• The ideal candidate will conduct thorough appraisals and suitability testing of new physical separation equipment and technology to ensure its successful transfer to industry.
• This role involves overseeing the construction, commissioning, and operation of pilot plants, as well as coordinating and supervising multiple major service/research projects simultaneously.
• The successful candidate will provide expert consulting services and training to clients at an advanced professional level, ensuring their needs are met through the development of innovative project work.

Requirements:

• A minimum qualification of PhD in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy is required.
• At least 8 years' experience in the field of physical separation is necessary.
• The ideal candidate should have experience in laboratory and pilot plant research and development projects, as well as a proven record of published journals and conference papers.
• A team player with a passion for minerals processing, a working knowledge of legislation covering the workplace, and excellent communication skills is essential.
