JOB BRIEF:

Global leader in motion and control technologies seeks a professional expert with strong lead import and export trade compliance experience to act as a resource to their South African operations.

The key objective of the role will be to minimize compliance risk while maximizing operational and cost efficiency by functioning as a resource in the areas of import/export transactions, handling Export Control regulations, Free Trade Agreements, policies and procedures with a strategic focus to streamline efficiencies and ensure compliance with regulations

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND QUALIFACTIONS IREQUIRED

Bachelor's/master's degree in business, law or comparable
3 years' experience in Trade Compliance (main focus on import compliance)
Bonded Warehouse is an advantage
Strong knowledge of Import and Export Regulations
Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Familiarity with Supply Chain Management Systems
Ability to contribute expertise in a matrix organization
Fluent in English, further languages preferred

DUTIES:

Design, implement and manage a robust trade compliance program for the South African Operations, including the ongoing development and maintenance of local procedures and training program
Conduct risk assessments, identify compliance issues, and oversee implementation of corrective measures, assist with governmental audits
Manage import transactions on operational level: handle broker requests, ensure data quality and import entry file completeness, lead times and import entry archiving in document management system
Implement and manage internal import compliance audits
Support international cargo security and AEO licensing programs.
