JOB BRIEF:


Global leader in motion and control technologies seeks a professional expert with strong lead import and export trade compliance experience to act as a resource to their South African operations.

The key objective of the role will be to minimize compliance risk while maximizing operational and cost efficiency by functioning as a resource in the areas of import/export transactions, handling Export Control regulations, Free Trade Agreements, policies and procedures with a strategic focus to streamline efficiencies and ensure compliance with regulations

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND QUALIFACTIONS IREQUIRED

  • Bachelor's/master's degree in business, law or comparable
  • 3 years' experience in Trade Compliance (main focus on import compliance)
  • Bonded Warehouse is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of Import and Export Regulations
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Supply Chain Management Systems
  • Ability to contribute expertise in a matrix organization
  • Fluent in English, further languages preferred

DUTIES:


  • Design, implement and manage a robust trade compliance program for the South African Operations, including the ongoing development and maintenance of local procedures and training program
  • Conduct risk assessments, identify compliance issues, and oversee implementation of corrective measures, assist with governmental audits
  • Manage import transactions on operational level: handle broker requests, ensure data quality and import entry file completeness, lead times and import entry archiving in document management system
  • Implement and manage internal import compliance audits
  • Support international cargo security and AEO licensing programs.
