Mission/Function of the role:

Involvement in delivery of Smart Metering Software Applications to utilities and municipalities (Water, Electricity and Gas) across Africa covering solution design, implementation, training, and maintenance and support.

What are the responsibilities of the role?

Project requirements gathering - You will participate on project requirements gathering workshops pre-implementation phases of smart metering projects
Documentation functions - You will be responsible for developing and documenting technical support procedures for internal use and for customers, training material, project functional specification based on requirements gathering exercises.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications:
B.Sc. Electrical/Electronic Engineering (must have taken Electronics and Software Engineering/Development courses)

years work experience in an engineering environment.

Competencies:

Must have interest in functional bits of Smart metering technologies and not only the technical scope.
Knowledge and experience in at least one core programming language (e.g. C++, JAVA or C#)
Knowledge and experience with Software Engineering/Development concepts (Lifecycle).
Knowledge and experience in Databases (ORACLE or MySQL) including SQL scripting is advantageous.
Knowledge and experience with Unix based Operating Systems (Linux) including Shell/Bash is advantageous.
