  • Purpose of the Job
Assisting the Buyer with effectively capturing buying related data on the buying system. Handling all captured data related queries from customers, suppliers, and stores. Performing general administration functions to assist the Buyer.

The role works collaboratively with the Buyer and Buying team to ensure commercial targets are met and requires a highly organized and detail orientated individual with good energy and drive to deliver on expectations and get things done.

Accountable for:


  • Capturing buyingrelated data on the system.
  • Placing orders, processing purchase orders and invoices.
  • Handling administrative and data queries from vendors, suppliers, DC's, and sales team.
  • Quality checking all information inputted and captured.
  • Filing of documents/information.
  • Capturing of data accurately and timeously.
  • Requesting supplier and promotion performance reports from systems as requested by Buyers.
  • Providing a secretarial service to Buyers.
  • Assisting the buying team with the ecommerce offering, including sales, the selection of the online product range and the merchandising and promotion of this range.
  • Perform product data analysis, competitor and market research and recommend merchandising solutions to achieve customer experience and campaign objectives, as well as executing said solution.
  • Ensure digital channels are rich with content and enable customers to easily discover products within the catalogue.
  • Assist with the product catalogue and work with the product coordination teams to ensure the integrity of the product catalogue is maintained at all times.
  • Work closely with the buying and marketing teams in setting up promotions which maximise sales.
  • Report on predetermined KPI's whereby the department and online site will be measured.

Essential

  • Grade 1
  • Experience

Essential

  • 2+ years' experience in a similar capacity or role, executing administrative functions and support related to the buying, ecommerce or planning process.
  • Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills
  • Good telephone etiquette
  • Exposure to SAP Buying / Retail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Proficiency with MS Office 365 with welldeveloped excel skills to prepare detailed spreadsheets using formulas
