Description

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

  • To effectively execute the Emerging Markets South strategy for Africa ensuring that local nuances and priorities are considered, planned and followed through. To work closely with the Manager Brand Communications and Africa team and act as the specialist for marketing campaigns and initiatives, ensuring consistent deployment of strategy throughout relevant countries and delivering on all brand KPIs.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Plan and drive the execution of the local Brand Activation calendar. Ensuring this calendar is focused on key brand priorities and drives local market initiatives where relevant.
  • Work closely with the brand comms manager to execute and follow through on brand campaigns in the local markets.
  • Support the ideation and creation of high quality, market relevant retail elements across the different Africa stores.
  • Support in the building of a locally relevant SPOMA and EIM partner portfolios in the different Africa markets.
  • Manage trade marketing responsibilities in alignment with Emerging Markets South Omni Manager
  • Support partner relationship management & strategy development. Including the scouting and securing of new, culturally relevant partners.
  • Creation of a digital advertising campaigns for markets with ECOM channels.
  • Work closely with Emerging Markets South Marketing team and line manager to develop and drive an aligned brand strategy for required countries.
  • Close collaboration with Africa Export team to ensure marketing initiatives supports the strategic business plan and delivers against the set KPI's.
  • Effectively manage external agencies to support the execution of the brand strategy.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Solid Understanding of brand communication, marketing mix (media, events, sponsorship, trade marketing, PR) with a global brand or retailer (sporting goods/lifestyle preferred).
  • Deep understanding of local market, brand landscape and youth culture.
  • Advance user of MS office suite of products.
  • Solid collaborative skill set and passion for marketing and retail.
  • Experience in working in a complex matrix organization.
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills.
  • Experience managing external agencies and partners.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree in Marketing
  • Minimum of 35 years equivalent professional experience, ideally in Marketing with a focus on Brand Management
  • Fluent in English
