- Ensure full stock list advertising on new vehicles.
- Resolve customer complaints expeditiously.
- Price setting: Ensure sales staff stay competitive and have knowledge of vehicle prices.
- Marketing of new cars: Ensure marketing plans are in place. Review data, costs, OEM requirements, etc.
- Deal file reviews: Ensure staff understand correct information on deal files and legal aspects thereof.
- Responsible for scorecard items and realisation of their importance.
- Parts
- Check parts sale recons and statements.
- Manage parts debtors in terms of account holders, accounts, and creation thereof.
- Manage parts stock holding and ageing. Ensure fast mover stock holding at a controllable low level.
- Perform daily perpetual stock takes.
- Conduct quarterly full stock takes.
- Potential take backs of parts: Handle fees and policy.
- Check parts reports to know excess stock existence and endeavour to clear these stock items.
- Workshop
- WIP (work in progress report): Manage all aspects and identify problems early.
- Manage cash sales to ensure daily banking and elimination of fraud on cash deals.
- Manage warranty and service claims regarding ageing and write offs.
- Ensure daily bookings are maximised for optimal workshop flow.
- Manage and monitor technician labour sales.
- Manage workshop scorecard items.
- General Management/Accounting
- Manage day-to-day concerns of dealership operations.
- Play a crucial role during selection and interviews for management within the dealerships.
- Provide direction and structure for all departments regarding risk, profitability, and staff.
- Maintain CSI within the dealerships.
- Ensure dealerships achieve status levels.
- Reduce inefficient expenses at the dealership.
- Ensure net profitability of the dealership.
- Check creditors report and manage payments.
- Manage credit note file review. Sign off on all creditor notes.
- Manage petty cash recons and floats.
- Check cash on hand and bank recons.
- Manage payroll in terms of sign off on recons, payslips, inputs, incentives, etc.
- General Management/Adhoc
- Carry out additional reasonable duties as directed by management.
- Matriculation Certificate.
- Tertiary qualification in business operations.
- Minimum 5 years of motor industry managerial experience at a senior level as a Commercial Vehicle Dealer Principal.
- Microsoft Office packages.
- Dealer Operations Software.
- Good business acumen.
- Leadership skills and knowledge of management principles.
- Good knowledge of accounting and business practices and compliance.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Motor Industry experience ESSENTIAL.
