Job Summary

To provide complex specialist risk advice and take responsible for executing on the CIB Enterprise Risk Measurement strategic direction


Job Description:


  • Measurement of BUwide risk and managing risk type service providers.
  • Ensure that risk appetite is set and monitored throughout the year highlighting key risks for the BU through quantitative and qualitative articulation of current and projected factors influencing the BU risk profile.
  • Take responsibility for coordinating and reviewing the Risk Appetite setting in preparation for the integrated planning process (linking risk appetite to BU strategy).
  • Linking Risk Appetite to group strategy and the integrated planning process
  • Negotiating and ensuring that risk appetite limits align to strategy and vice versa
  • Continuously review the risk appetite performance metrics to all parameters set and evaluate any instances where there is over or underutilisation.
  • Take responsibility to perform continuous analysis to improve reporting and benchmark reporting to peers (including identifying improvements in the risk measurement methodology and execution.
  • Submit regular and accurate reports to senior management and committees where applicable.
  • Ensure adequate governance is in place related to the responsibility and management of principal risks in line with the Group ERMF.
  • Keep abreast of new and emerging risks that may affect the BU risk profile i.e. Sustainability Risk, Business Risk and Basel IV.
  • Delivery on key projects impacting the BU risk profile.
  • Ensure effective interaction within BC, Group Risk, Treasury and Finance
  • Build and maintain relationships with the heads of products and business unit managers to ensure that risk activities are delivered in line with the BU Risk framework.
Education

Bachelor Honours Degree:
Business, Commerce and Management Studies (required)
