    Description

    Temp Packhouse Manager Role

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Temp Packhouse Manager to oversee our client's blueberry packhouse operations during high season. This role requires managing staff, optimizing production processes, maintaining equipment, ensuring compliance with quality and food safety standards, and overseeing peak-season operations.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Lead and direct staff in a sound and efficient manner.
    • Ensure quality product output, accuracy, and consistency in pack house processes and documentation.
    • Implement policies and principles effectively.
    • Maintain high standards of health and safety practices.
    • Ensure compliance with industry quality assurance standards.
    • Meet specifications required by local and export customers.
    • Adhere to temperature and transport regulations.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a packhouse management role, preferably in blueberries or soft fruits.
    • Mechanical knowledge of packhouse equipment, including optical sorters and pack lines.
    • Experience managing large teams in a fast-paced environment.
    • Familiarity with blueberry packing requirements for export markets.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • High computer literacy in MS Excel, with strong numerical and planning skills.
    • Self-disciplined, a team player, honest, and of high integrity.
    • Able to work under minimum supervision while meeting set targets and deadlines.
    • Willing to work overtime and weekends.
