Description
a well established engineering concern based in Stellenbosch has a vacancy for a Workshop Foreman to join their teamResponsibilities:
- Supervision and training of workshop staff
- Managing and adherence to work schedules
- Ensure work is delivered within deadlines
- Ensuring compliance to quality standards
- Anticipate, detect, and fix things that hinder effective operations
- Ensure compliance to safety regulations and protocols
- Ensure that all equipment and machinery are properly operated and maintained
- Perform administrative tasks
Qualifications and experience:
- Trade tested toolmaker, boilermaker, fitter & turner or millwright
- At least 5 years practical experience
- Physically fit and healthy
- Experience in leading a team would be advantageous
- Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English (a 3rd language would be advantageous)
- Entrepreneurial mindset and gogetter attitude
- Must be hands on and proactive
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Results driven can get things done
- Natural aptitude for technical quality and finish of work
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Problem solving skills
- Strong organizational and coordination skills
- Passion for people and their development
- Good knowledge of the applicable safety regulations and procedures
- Computer literacy (basic proficiency in Word & Excel)
Key requirements:
- Must be based in or around Stellenbosch
- Driver's license (code EC would be advantageous)
- Reliable own transport
