Job Summary:


The Handyman is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair tasks in various fields, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC.

The incumbent will exhibit a high level of expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining facilities, equipment, and systems as assigned.

The Handyman will work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring timely completion of tasks.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform a wide range of repairs, maintenance, and renovations in different areas, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, appliances, fixtures, and systems within assigned areas.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and potential hazards, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
  • Install, assemble, and repair various structures, fixtures, and equipment as needed.
  • Respond to maintenance requests promptly and efficiently, ensuring work orders are completed in a timely manner.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other team members, supervisors, and contractors to ensure smooth workflow and completion of projects.
  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance comply with safety regulations and adhere to established standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inventory of tools and equipment.
  • Assist in developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs and procedures.
  • Provide support during emergencies, including after-hours and weekends, as required.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience in performing general maintenance and repair work, preferably as a Handyman or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC systems.
  • Proficient in using tools, equipment, and materials commonly used in maintenance and repair work.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to effectively diagnose and repair issues.
  • Good understanding of safety practices and regulations related to maintenance tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, supervisors, and clients.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks requiring prolonged standing, walking, and bending.
