Description

A key role exists for a Private/COID Credit Controller at Life Bayview Private Hospital, reporting to Chane Wrigley, Reception Supervisor.

Critical Outputs

• Manage hospital DSOs in line with performance targets.
• Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including patients, funders, doctors, and private patients.
• Maintain compliance with established procedures and quality standards.
• Ensure accurate and efficient administration of the credit control function.
• Foster timely follow-up on all accounts according to working protocols.
• Oversee Injury on Duty/Private/Foreign/SAPD debt associated with private portions.
• Analyze short payments on private/injury on duty accounts.
• Audit IOD documents prior to scanning to head office.
• Verify correct documentation and accounts submitted to IOD department at head office.
• Adhere to agreed standards and procedures in auditing and submitting IOD claims to head office.
• Proactively manage all injury on duty accounts.
• Risk-manage Injury on duty claims rejected due to incorrect documentation.
• Resolve queries within specified turnaround times.
• Knowledge of fixed fees, fee-for-service, and COID tariffs.
• Minimize bad debt write-offs through proactive debtor management.
• Manage Debtor Age analysis in accordance with Life Healthcare protocols, targets, and objectives.
• Credit control over private patients.
• Contribute positively to the credit control and admissions team.
• Report weekly performance to reception supervisor.
• Meet set targets and benchmarks.

Requirements

• Qualification: Matric (Grade 12).
• Essential experience in credit control.
• Advantageous experience in healthcare environment.
• Basic understanding of financial principles.
• Proficiency in computer skills, specifically IMPILO or relevant software system.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are prerequisites.
• Experience in customer-facing roles.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Understanding of the private healthcare industry and its challenges is advantageous.
• Availability to assist in different roles in admissions area as needed.
• Teamwork is essential.
