    Labour Relations Officer Job Description

    A specialist warehouse and distribution company seeks an experienced Labour Relations Officer in Gauteng.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Render sound labour relations to minimize conflict, increase productivity and efficiency.
    • Establish and maintain good and fair labour relation practices.
    • Develop and maintain a high performance workforce through sound human resource management principles.

    Duties

    • Manage labour relations for a workforce exceeding 600 employees.
    • Maintain oversight of all first line discipline.
    • Oversee and participate in Disciplinary Proceedings.
    • Facilitate disciplinary enquiries, appeals, grievances and CCMA cases.
    • Advise employees and management on disciplinary processes and procedures.
    • Liaise with Union officials and representatives when required.

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Co-ordinate external referred disputes.
    • Research relevant case law and compile case reports.
    • Evaluate policies and procedures in line with labour legislation.
    • Build and maintain constructive relationships with unions, management and councillors.

    Key Skills

    • Strong knowledge of labour laws and regulations.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 with Labour Law or IR qualification.
    • Minimum 3 - 5 years of Labour Relations experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience within the distribution and logistics sector.
