    Financial Accountant Role at Leolo and Partners Chartered Accountants

    We are seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join our Finance Department, supporting the Company Finance Manager in various tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen and expertise in accounting principles, with a preference for those with HR administration experience.

    This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in financial accounting, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations within the company.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will report to the Company Finance Manager and be responsible for:

    1. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
    2. Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

    Key Areas of Responsibility

    The Financial Accountant will also be responsible for:

    Financial Reporting on Sage Accounting

    1. Utilizing Sage Accounting software to prepare financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    2. Ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data for reporting purposes.

    Payroll Management

    1. Processing payroll accurately and on time, including calculation of wages, deductions, and taxes.
    2. Handling payroll queries and issues from employees in a timely manner.

    SARS Account Management Experience

    1. Managing interactions with the South African Revenue Service (SARS), including tax filings, queries, and audits.
    2. Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and deadlines, including VAT and PAYE.
    3. Assisting in the preparation of tender applications, providing financial documentation and budgetary information as required.
    4. Collaborating with relevant departments to compile comprehensive and compliant tender submissions.

    Budgeting and Forecasting

    1. Supporting the Company Finance Manager in developing annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
    2. Monitoring budget performance and providing variance analysis to support decision-making.

    HR Administration

    1. Assisting with HR administrative tasks, including employee onboarding, record maintenance, and benefits administration.
    2. Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements related to employment laws and regulations.

    Tax Returns Submission

    1. Preparing and submitting tax returns accurately and within specified deadlines.
    2. Staying informed about changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

    Desired Qualifications and Experience

    The ideal candidate will possess:

    1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
    2. Minimum 2 years of experience in a financial accounting role.
    3. Proven experience in bookkeeping principles and practices.
    4. Proficiency in Sage Accounting software and other relevant accounting tools.
    5. Experience in payroll processing, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
    6. Familiarity with tender application processes, budgeting/forecasting techniques, and HR administration.
    7. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    8. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
    9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
