Welding Inspector Komati Power Station immediate to November 2023 (End of Contract)

Matric (Grade 12) or Equivalent, SAIW Level 2 Certificate, Experience in a Power Station or Knowledge thereof, Advantageous Attributes:

Knowledge - Business Management system (9001), Document Management, Configuration Management, Process Development & Maintenance, Skills - Computer Literacy, Co-ordinating, Presentations, Problem Solving, Communication (Interpersonal, Verbal and Technical Writing), Leadership R170.

00 per hour

Provision of all the Station Quality Control activities including Maintenance, JET Projects, and all work performed by Service Providers contracted with Komati Power Station

The scope includes:

Adhere to Intervention Points (H, W, S & R)
Attend meetings, perform inspections on components and verify outage data packs
Lead quality inspectors and access controllers
Ensure all documentation is up to date and completed correctly including clean con files
Taking and verification of critical measurements
Plan quality requirements to assure quality in design for a project
Develop quality documentation for a project
Clarify quality requirements during execution of a project
Highlight the nonavailability of Spares and lead times thereof
Identify new and highlight previous lessons learnt for a project
Identify potential project quality risks
Ensure adherence to procedures, work instructions, standards and policies
Review existing and/or compile new procedures w.r.t. the permanent resolution of nonconformances.
Resolve recurring nonconformances.
Ensure sustainability of corrective actions.
Assist with the resolution of repeated technical and/or qualityrelated transgressions.
Review of existing and/or compilation of new procedures, taking into account Eskom standards/procedures to align with "global best practices".
Involvement in the selection and approval of Suppliers
Develop measurements to monitor effectiveness of improvement activities.
Participate in investigations. Investigations must be based on factual information (e.g. physical evidence, engineering calculations, laboratory results, documentary support, and witness testimonies), i.e. rumours, speculation and personal vendettas may not be included in any way whatsoever.
