    Your Role

    The DevOps Engineer creates and develops automated, containerised cloud application platforms and designs/ implements DevOps processes that use those platforms.

    You will act as a subject matter expert for troubleshooting/resolving complex, multi-tier architecture problems spanning multiple platforms.

    Responsibilities

    • Familiarize yourself with technologies used on the squad
    • Perform triage functionality through verification and fixing of bugs
    • Collaborate with a distributed team to fulfill quarterly objectives
    • Automate recurring manual tasks and optimize repetitive ones
    • Develop code independently/pair programming
    • Perform code reviews
    • Research and prototype new technologies
    • Write/maintain design/user/test documentation
    • Support software testing/quality assurance processes
    • Develop/test/maintain software for the Platform
    • Build meaningful unit/function/integration tests
    • Respond to alerts/review error messages/fix bugs
    • Assess/debug/resolve technical issues
    • Maintain build/stage stability
    • Review business needs/requirements/specifications

    Requirements

    • Administrative experience with Linux operating systems (CentOS, RedHat, Ubuntu)
    • Good understanding of IaC principles and adoption methods
    • Coding/scripting skills in common languages (Python, Perl, PHP, Ruby)
    • Familiarity with primary coding languages (C++, Java)
    • Ability to identify/evaluate/integrate open-source technologies/cloud services
    • Experience with business/CI/CD tools (Prometheus, GitHub, Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Jenkins)
    • Public cloud resources/services (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
    • IT monitoring/management tools (Cloudflare, Elastic)
    • Proficiency in troubleshooting/resolving technical issues
    • Strong focus on security/NIST/CIS compliance
