    Description

    Job Title: Senior Data Architect

    This role is within the Insurance & Asset Management segment at Standard Bank of South Africa Limited and requires an individual to provide infrastructure, tools and frameworks for delivering end-to-end solutions to Actuarial, IT and data problems.

    About the Role

    We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Architect to expand and optimize our data and data pipeline architecture. This will involve optimizing data flow and collection to support various data initiatives across the organization.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Designing and developing scalable infrastructure for collecting, managing, analysing and visualizing data to deliver clear business insights from raw data sources.
    • Developing analytical solutions to meet business needs and drive data-driven decision making.
    • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of data systems and processes.
    • Maintaining and enhancing existing data pipelines and architectures to ensure optimal performance and scalability.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related field.
    • Nearly/ newly qualified actuary or Master's degree in Statistics with at least 5 years' experience in a complex insurance environment.
    • Extensive knowledge of IFRS 17 reporting software and short-term insurance business principles.
    • Understanding of data mining and data enrichment for financial reporting.
    • Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
