Ivanhoe Mines is looking for a Group Head of Training and Development

Play your part in our team succeeding...

You will have the following**:

A Bachelor of Education,
_or_
A Tertiary qualification as Mining Engineer,
_or_
A Bachelor of Applied Science focusing on HSEQ
Experience and advanced knowledge of Project Management
Be Fluent in English.
Fluency in French will be advantageous.

10 years in a
Senior Training and Development capacity, with proven and successful experience leading a training and development department in a multilingual, culturally diverse
Mining environment.


Preferably you will have:

A Tertiary qualification as Mining Engineer,


You will have advanced skills and knowledge in:

  • Principles of adult vocational training and competency-based training.
  • Experience in analysing company needs, lesson planning, development and implementation.
  • Teaching theory for creating effective instructional materials.
  • Understanding of different Mining Environments
  • Knowledge and Experience of the Qualifications Framework
  • Goals and Customer service standards
  • Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously.
  • Project Management

Technical Skills should include:


  • Database and computer skills
  • MS Office
  • Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Project Management
  • Budgeting

Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to:

Process:
Streamline the group-wide technical training function


  • Develop, implement, monitor, maintain, and improve ongoing training programs & material across the business.
  • Develop and maintain Policies, Process, and Standard Operating Procedures for the Technical Training Centre
  • Establish Standards and Quality Assurance Methodology
  • Advise on Best Practices as a Subject Matter Expert
