Software Development Manager - Stellenbosch, South Africa - Client operating in the financial technology industry

Our client, operating in the financial technology industry, has an exciting position available for a
Software Development Manager to join their growing team.

• Hire, train and mentor new developers, taking responsibility to assist developers in their career path and growth
• Define and manage the team structure
• Conduct ongoing performance evaluations on team members with structured feedback to the CIO
• Supervise and delegate duties to the development team in collaboration with the project management team
• Maintain and improve development standards for the team, which includes all aspects of a modern development CI/CD pipeline
• Participate code reviews where applicable
• Coordinate the interactions between the development team and other departments, including support, operations, business development and finance
• Assist in defining and running all aspects of proactive maintenance of a running production environment
• Oversight on ongoing integrations into the production environment
• Provide oversight over the quality of outsourced development
• Assist CIO setting development budgets and providing feedback to senior management.

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering or computer science
• 10 years' software development experience, of which 5 years' should have been in a managerial capacity
• Strong communication, leadership, and problemsolving skills
• Experience with Java and Spring Boot Framework
• Experience with transaction processing systems in banking and retail environments
• Fluent in English and ideally Afrikaans

• Do you have a degree in software engineering or computer science?
• Do you have 10 years' software development experience, of which 5 years' in a managerial capacity?
• Do you have experience with Java and the Springboot Framework?
• This is a hybrid role are you comfortable working in the office 3 days a week?
