Description

Vaccine Supply Chain Management:

  • Support vaccine logistics and distribution processes to enable COVID19 vaccines to be integrated into the routine immunization services of the province
  • Coordinate communication regarding vaccine management within the province for both public and private sector.
  • Facilitate and support provincial vaccine distribution and improve procedures for downstream vaccine demand planning and redistribution activities
  • Conduct ongoing situational analysis to identify gaps within the supply chain system
  • Establish and maintain a process for the flow of information regarding vaccine usage, wastage, quantities and distribution so that the management of vaccines becomes more efficient and costeffective
  • Provide supervisory support within the province to ensure efficient logistics planning, distribution, storage and handling.
  • Strengthen and improve SVS reporting compliance and accuracy of reporting
  • Implement interventions to minimise vaccine wastage, including use of vaccine utilisation reviews
  • Implement integrated wastage monitoring tools
  • Optimise the policies and management of vaccines and injection safety including ensuring the availability of correct ancillary supplies

Cold Chain Management and Monitoring:

  • Coordinate cold chain support activities of partners including training on new equipment and maintenance support
  • Support and facilitate training interventions in cold chain management, including in the private sector
  • Develop and implement processes and tools to monitor/audit cold chain equipment, performance and capacity
  • Continuously monitor available cold chain capacity, identify gaps and design interventions in line with national guidelines
  • Facilitate provincial vaccine distribution to ensure cold chain management at all stages
  • B.Pharm
  • Registration as a Pharmacist with South African Pharmacy Council
  • Record of continuous development in pharmacy related topics
  • Previous work experience in the Public sector
