    Senior Consultant - Business Sustainability Job

    The Senior Consultant - Business Sustainability will lead the development, management, and execution of sustainability reporting processes in accordance with international and local standards and frameworks.

    This role involves report compilation for clients, coordination of data collection from various departments, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of reported data, monitoring, and reporting on key sustainability metrics and performance indicators.

    The consultant will conduct materiality assessments to identify and prioritize significant environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues for the company, engage with stakeholders, including customers, employees, investors, and regulators, to gather input on material sustainability topics.

    This position oversees junior consultants, business development, tracks portal, proposal compilations, and completes internal quality processes. It also includes client product design from strategy to gaps analysis then solution design, as well as climate change client maturity journey from measurement to decarbonisation pathways.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop, manage, and execute sustainability reporting processes
    • Report compilation for clients
    • Data collection and integrity management
    • Sustainability metrics and performance indicator monitoring
    • Materiality assessments and stakeholder engagement
    • Junior consultant oversight and training
    • Business development and quality process management
    • Client product design and climate change services

    Requirements:

    • Relevant post-graduate qualification in sustainable development, business, finance, or accounting
    • Strong understanding of international and local sustainability reporting standards and frameworks
    • Working knowledge of GRI Standards, IFRS S1 and S2, CSRD an added advantage
    • Minimum 3 years' client-facing professional services experience in sustainability
    • Proven experience in carbon footprint assessment and decarbonisation strategy development and implementation
    • Commercially focused and adept in applying sustainability knowledge to differing client situations
    • Strong business writing and presentation skills

    Estimated Salary: R750,000 - R950,000 per annum
