A leading and stable chemical company requires a suitably qualified maintenance planner in Kempton Park.


Purpose of the job
The Maintenance Planner enables the Asset Management Teams to deliver the 'Right Maintenance, the Right Way, at the Right Time, ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective planning principles and practise to meet production targets and support the Work management process, by:

  • Planning detail operations (internal and external), with correct planned hours needed to execute activities. Create and update a master data including technical information from MOC, BOM on all the mechanical equipment/installation(s) used onsite. Ensure the availability of material, specialised tools, and equipment to execute planned tasks.
  • Scheduling all preventive, schedule origin, adhoc request and emergency work based on recourse and planed availability.
  • Coordinating maintenance activities, through planning and scheduling in line with the maintenance program. Coordinate the planning and scheduling of planned, emergency, and opportunity task (including the shutdown activities). Coordinate maintenance activities with all relevant departmental resources required to perform task(s).
  • Monitor execution of work by performing data capturing into SAP PM and filing records appropriately. Ensure equipment is visibly marked for identification and activities are planned to be legally and safety compliant.
  • Give Feedback on the completion of work on CMMS software (preferably SAP). Record information from the maintenance activities onto the CMMS. Evaluate and report trends on the percentage of breakdown work versus planned maintenance task.

Experience

  • 5 years' experience working in maintenance planning, reliability engineering, asset care or SAP data analyst role.
  • At least 3 years in a manufacturing industry, preferably chemical process plants.
  • Experience in planning, scheduling, and reporting on preventative, corrective and asset care plans.

Qualifications:


  • Matric
  • Diploma or certification in asset and maintenance management (Advantage).
  • National Diploma in Engineering (Advantage)
  • CMMS Training (Preferably SAP PM)

Knowledge / skills/ Competencies

  • Knowledgeable on different types of equipment related to chemical manufacturing plants.
  • Basic knowledge of the SANS codes and Good Engineering Practice
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, No. 85 of 199
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001, 45001, 9001, 5500
  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (i.e. SAP PM and MM)
  • Experience in planning, scheduling and coordinating plant shutdown activities.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Projects)
  • Knowledgeable on the OHS Act and statutory maintenance requirements.
  • Capable of influencing different departments regarding engineering support of daytoday tasks.
  • Indepth knowledge of engineering principles and SAP PM maintenance management systems

Reporting structure:


  • This position reports to the
    Asset Care Manager.

Personal Circumstances:


  • Must be able to obtain a satisfactory medical report from the companies' medical centre.

Other details:


Salary:
R350K basic salary per annum negotiable depending on experience.
