Reporting directly to the GM, Technical Business the Category Manager will serve as the expert for anti-corrosion products with their customers and suppliers.

Based in Cape Town, you will make frequent trips to Africa. You will take responsibilities and will have the opportunity to suggest and implement your ideas and action plans. Autonomy and boldness are the values they foster on a daily basis.

You will be our expert for anti-corrosion products with our customers and suppliers.

Travel requirements:
Frequent business trips across Africa


Job description / core competencies:
You will be our expert for anti-corrosion products with our customers and suppliers.

Based in Cape Town, you will make frequent trips to Africa.

You will work closely with our sales team located in our subsidiaries.

During your integration, you will benefit from a tailor-made path to become familiar with our activity, know-how and projects.

Your daily missions:

You are the expert for our customers:
Increase turnover and improve margins for the paints and anti-corrosion products department.

Develop the portfolio of current customers and prospect new ones. Develop new markets and ranges.

Meet customers' needs and offer suitable products while optimizing margins.

Monitor anti-corrosion business as a whole and report to the Business Unit Manager.

Lead the sales teams based in our African subsidiaries. Provide the technical expertise they need. Support the teams for their sales prospects and customer relations. Set sales targets and support them to achieve expectations.

You are the expert for our suppliers:
Develop confidence with suppliers to have the ranges that our customers need.

Implement a benchmark process with suppliers to check we have best-value-for-money ranges.

Support suppliers to improve the quality of their products and services.

Manage the contractual relationship with suppliers.


Your skills:
You are well-known for your technical expertise on paints and anti-corrosion products to drive negotiations with customers and suppliers. A currently valid FROSIO certification would be nice.

You have significant experience in international business development or want to develop your sales skills.

You are entrepreneurial-minded and enjoy exploring new territories. You have successful professional experiences across Africa.

You already manage cross-functional teams and work with teams located in different locations and countries.

You are result oriented. You are agile and reactive and offer innovative solutions.

Owing to your spoken and written ability to communicate, you develop confidence with your interlocutors. You are empathic and understand customers' expectations.

You have analytics and synthesis skills.

You can work with a great autonomy.


You are comfortable with computer tools (MS Office including Excel, Power BI) and you have already work with an ERP.

First experience about the oil & gas industry would be appreciated.

You are fluent in both English and French. Portuguese or Italian would be nice.
