Our client, a leading Hotel Group based in Branston, is seeking a Tourism Sales Manager to effectively sell the Hotel Groups products and services to the existing and potential new markets.


Responsibilities:


  • Selling the Groups products and services in selected/defined markets.
  • Formulate, implement, and monitor the departmental budget in keeping hotel and central office guidelines and deadlines.
  • Conduct market intelligence to ensure the Group is ahead of competition and that it is implementing the correct strategies which will position it as the leading hotel Group of choice in Zimbabwe.
  • Any other ad hoc duties that maybe required from to time in line with the duties of the role.
  • Ensure achievement of the Hotel Groups Sales Revenue Targets through activating, implementing, monitoring and directing Sales initiatives.
  • Participate in the development of the Hotel Groups Sales and Marketing Plan and budget to ensure that they are in line with corporate objectives.
  • Conduct market intelligence to ensure the Group is ahead of competition.
  • Capitalize and utilize the Hotel Groups partnerships and synergies to ensure competitive advantage, including construction of appropriate sales packages for the different market segments.
  • Thorough advancement of promotional and special offers to the market through strategic selling, encompassing personal and teleselling.
  • Executing and implementing the Group's Revenue Generation Strategies including but not limited to those curated internally.
  • Constant communication with Sales & Commercial Services Manager and Hotel Teams on innovative packages targeted at the different business cycles obtaining in the market.
  • Cross selling by smooth management of Hotels Enquiries liaising with the Sales & Commercial Services Manager and Central Reservations Manager.
  • Identification and development of new business opportunities for the Group.
  • Production of regular and relevant reports required not only for board pack and performance monitoring but for decision making by team and senior management.
  • Cross selling products and services within the Groups subsidiaries for example The Tour Operating arm and Mobile App, Virtual partners.
  • Initiating and managing beneficial partnerships to ensure competitive advantage, including construction of appropriate sales packages.
  • Work closely with the Sales & Commercial Services Manager to implement various revenue generation strategies for the Group.

Requirements:


  • Ideally, not less than 3 years' experience in a similar or equal position or responsibility.
  • Preferably holder of a Tertiary Qualification in Business Management, Sales, Travel and Tourism.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Sales and Marketing or any relative field.
  • A Master's Degree an added advantage.
  • Commercially driven and have an extensive knowledge of sales and good appreciation of marketing.
  • Significant inclination in "hard, strategic, selling" as required by our highly competitive environment is essential.
  • Maturity, good leadership skills, innovation, resourcefulness, and creativity are important requirements.
  • Knowledgeable in Information management systems is a prerequisite.
  • Working experience in the tourism industry is an added advantage.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Johannesburg, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:


  • Bachelors (preferred)

Experience:


  • Sales: 4 years (required)
