Reports:

Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader- To support and ensure the optimal performance of the operations by closely monitoring and resolving process related problems while improving process control by adopting technically sound practices and procedures with competent manufacturing personnel.

Responsibilities

Carry out mechanical inspections in designated areas, do preventative & scheduled maintenance in accordance with acceptable safety standards and carry out equipment break down repairs to ensure optimal performance of the process and to meet the production targets.
Ensure that inspections on running machinery & equipment are carried out in order to prevent unnecessary downtime.
Identify, verify and analyse reasons for downtime through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective measures to repair the fault in order to ensure timeous resumption of production.
Report any adverse plant conditions to the maintenance Team Leader by recording all work done on the job card for future maintenance planning and liaise with the production department to ensure that there are no unnecessary interruptions to the production process.
Attain World Class Manufacturing by following procedures, risk assessments, and task observations. Assist with the training and coaching of the apprentices to reduce the risk of accidents and noncompliance.
